Jerusalem Half Day Tour highlights

Tour detailed itinerary

Begin your half-day group guided tour with a pickup from your hotel entrance. Your half day tour in Jerusalem starts with a breathtaking panoramic overview of Jerusalem old city from Mount Scopus. Here your guide will introduce to you some of the facts and stories behind the city.

The first stop is at the Mount of Scopus with stunning views of Jerusalem’s skyline. In the distance is the Old City and Temple Mount where the golden dome of the Dome of the Rock offers the perfect photo-op. Looking down we see a 3,000-year-old Jewish cemetery. As we leave the Mount of Scopus, we pass the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations and Kidron Valley, site of ancient Jewish tombs.

Continue into the Jerusalem Old City through the Zion Gate to Jerusalem’s Cardo, the main thoroughfare of Byzantine Jerusalem. In the Jewish Quarter, visit the iconic Western Wall, or Wailing Wall, the only part left from the Second Temple that was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. At the Wailing Wall, also known as the Western Wall or Kotel, you’ll have the chance to take part in a tradition that spans centuries. Placing a note in the Wailing Wall involves inscribing your prayers, hopes, or personal messages on pieces of paper and tucking them into the ancient stones. This time-honored practice offers a unique opportunity to connect with history and spirituality, as your notes become part of a tradition that has endured through the ages.

Proceed to Christian Quarter, walk along the Via Dolorosa, the iconic street that Jesus walked on the way to his Crucifixion. Follow the Footsteps of Jesus, passing through Stations of Cross, that represent key events, such as where Jesus encountered his mother, where he stumbled and fell, and where Simon of Cyrene assisted him in carrying the Cross. The Via Dolorosa culminates at the Church of the Holy SepulchreSee the Stone of the Anointing, where Jesus was placed before his burial.

I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. John 11,25

Our family had an incredible experience on the Jerusalem Old and New Tour. From the breathtaking views at Mount Scopus to the spiritual moments at the Western Wall, each stop was perfectly balanced for all ages. The guides made history come alive, especially during the Via Dolorosa walk, which felt like a captivating adventure through time. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre left us in awe, and the unexpected visit to Ein Karem added a delightful twist to our family exploration. Overall, it's a must-do for families looking to blend history, spirituality, and modern wonders in Jerusalem.
