Detailed itinerary

Start your private one day tour from the port, drive to Jerusalem. Your one full day tour in Jerusalem starts with a breathtaking panoramic overview of Jerusalem old city, Temple Mount from Mount of Olives.

Continue tour along Kidron Valley viewing Mount of Olives, an ancient Jewish burial site. The Garden of Gethsemane, a beautiful garden with some very old olive trees. See The Church of All Nations, also known as the Church of the Agony.  Built in the 1920’s with donations from Christian communities all over the world.

Stop at Mount Zion to visit King David’s Tomb, Room of Last Supper and the Dormition Abbey. Enter the Jerusalem old city passing the Armenian Quarter, one of the four quarters of the old city of Jerusalem.  Pass by Armenian Monastery.

Heading to the Cardo, the main street of the old city 1500 years ago. It was destroyed over the decades, restored, and today the Cardo is a vibrant marketplace full of art galleries and unique goods.

Continuing through the Jewish Quarter, one of the quarters of the Old City of Jerusalem where you will see many holy and historical sites of the Jewish people. We proceed to the Western Wall, also known as the Wailing Wall.

The Western Wall was part of a big renovation project initiated by King Herod in the year 37 BCE. It is the western support wall built during this widening of the Temple Mount Plaza. The Western Wall was the remnant closest to the site of the Temple’s Holy of Holies that was accessible to Jews.  Therefore, it became a place of prayer and yearning for Jews around the world.

Continue your tour in Jerusalem old and new cities, walk along the Via Dolorosa  the path that Jesus walked, carrying his Cross, on the way to his crucifixion, follow the Stations of the Cross ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, identified as the place of the crucifixion and the Tomb of Jesus of Nazareth.

The second part of the private tour we proceed to Bethlehem.

Drive towards Bethlehem via the Nativity Circle and visit Bethlehem’s Manger Square, named after the manger Jesus was born in. Manger Square is home to the Church of the Nativity, one of the world’s oldest standing churches still functioning to this day.

We will visit the main Basilica of the Nativity, designed in the typical Roman-style and constructed on the ruins of its predecessor in 565 AD, as well as the Catholic Church of St. Catherine, adjoining the Basilica of the Nativity.

Underneath the Church stands the Grotto of the Nativity, the cave in which Jesus was born, the exact spot of birth is marked by a 14-pointed star of silver set into the floor. We also visit the nearby Milk Grotto, where Mary nursed her son. A Franciscan Chapel is built above the Milk Grotto.

Our last stop in Bethlehem before returning to Haifa port will be a beautiful overview of the Shepherds’ Fields and the Church of the Shepherds’ Fields. Return transfer to point of pickup.
