Tour detailed itinerary

Decent to the Judean desert, you will see the Inn of the Good Samaritan on route. Look out over the remarkable moonscape of the breathtaking Judean desert. We will take a short break at sea level and then continue to Jericho, the oldest city in the world.

Stop at Zacheus Sycamore to see the oldest Sycamore tree, which Zacheus climbed in order to spot Jesus. Visit the Mound of Ancient Jericho, where 25 ancient cities were uncovered.

Founded in 8,000 BC, Jericho is also the oldest Jewish settlement and was captured by Joshua and Israel in 1,200 BC. Stop for overview of Mt. Temptation. Here Jesus spent 40 days in the wilderness and the devil tried to tempt Him to forsake God. Get an overview of the oasis of Jericho and Elisha’s Spring. Cable car in Jericho not included.
Departing Jericho back to the Judea mountains we proceed to the city of Bethlehem.

Drive towards Bethlehem via the Nativity Circle and visit Bethlehem’s Manger Square, named after the manger Jesus was born in. Manger Square is home to the Church of the Nativity, one of the world’s oldest-standing churches still functioning to this day.

Here, we explore the Basilica of the Nativity, which houses the Grotto of the Nativity, the sacred site of Jesus’s birth. The cave has a niche believed to be the exact spot where Jesus was born. It is marked by the Altar of Nativity and a 14-pointed Silver Star with the Latin inscription that translates to “Here Jesus Christ was born to the Virgin Mary”.

Witness the original excavated mosaic dating back to the 4th century, a testament to St. Helen’s construction of the first church. If circumstances allow, we’ll also venture into the chapel caves beneath the Church of Saint Catherine.

This tour also includes visit to Qasr al-Yahud, the place on the Jordan River where John baptized Jesus. At Qasr al-Yahud, the Jordan River became accessible to visitors wishing to be baptized there. From here we pass Shepherds Field and return to Jerusalem. Return transfer to your pickup point after the tour.

This was a great tour. They picked us up in an tour bus with A/C and usb ports to charge your phone on the bus. We had lunch at a buffet place which was nice and they give you plenty of time to buy souvenirs when you are in Bethlehem. My tour guide, Saul, is the best! Very informative and has a very outgoing positive attitude that made the tour that much better.
